Since its inception, Aliments ASTA has thrived in pork slaughtering and processing activities, garnering an enviable position in the business world.

Since its foundation in 1982, Aliments ASTA has stood apart through its level of commitment to quality. Ongoing efforts have been made to continuously adapt to market concerns and advances in slaughtering technology, as well as in the primary processing of pork.

In recent years, many improvements have been made to the plant, namely upgraded slaughtering procedures and the installation of a new cutting room. In May 2002, the company received HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) recognition for the quality and health control of animals from their arrival at the plant to the production and expedition of finished, quality products. These changes have contributed to maintaining the company at the cutting edge of our particular field.

These developments explain why the company now processes 20,000 hogs per week. In the wake of increased production, company staff has also grown appreciably, from 15 employees in 1982 to over 400 today.

The company continues to expand. Investments are foreseen for the next few years to ensure that Aliments ASTA remains abreast of increasing market demands.
